The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology  of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT.

                IETE Students’ Forum was inaugurated on 21^stJuly 2012 at the Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Grandhi Varalakshmi Venkatarao Institute Of Technology. Fifty six students belonging to ECE department of the college have become members of ISF. Dr. K.Satya Prasad, Chairman, IETE Kakinada Sub Centre was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present at the inaugural function were – Prof. N.G.K.Murthy, Principal, Mr. Grandhi Suresh,Secretary& Correspondent, Mr. A.Kasi, JointSecretary,Mr. K.Venkanna Naidu, HOD (ECE) ,H.O.D’s and senior faculty members of various departments made their presence. GVIT Secretary& Correspondent Mr. Grandhi Suresh assured to give all assistance for conducting quality events including seminars and workshops to develop and promote technical interests among the members of the ISF, GVIT.

               Principal Prof. N.G.K.Murthy advised the students to conduct more and more events which are beneficial to students but insisted that extracurricular events go along but should not disturb the Academics and class work. In his address to the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. K.Satya Prasad explained the importance of communication skills and all round development of a student in his/her career. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of GVIT on this occasion and conveyed the importance of forming such forums and the benefits that students can obtain out of them. He brought to light the objectives of IETE and benefits of IETE Students Forum and advised the students to utilize the resources. He also explained about IETE Student’s Forums in India and their competencies and activities carried out. IETE opens resources for learning; motivation required for today’s technocrats and creates know-how of developments in the chosen fields of Engineering.HOD of ECE department, Mr. K.Venkanna Naidu explained the benefits and its need to which the students would gain as members of IETE.

 The day’s program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Mr. A.B.S.R.Manohar, Coordinator of ISF, GVIT followed by the National Anthem.Fifty six students of Electronics and Communication Engineering classes had enrolled themselves as members of the ISF, GVIT. It is expected that this number would swell over the next few years.
